Choosing an Ideal Job for YOU.
What is the difference between a job seeker and an infomercial sales person? Not a whole lot according to Kevin Donlin. He is the author of The Simple Job Search Manifesto.
He breaks down the job search into easy, actionable steps that is pretty useful. Here's a brief summary of the first couple chapters…
Chapter 1 starts out simple enough - Choose Your Ideal Job. Kevin highlights two major steps to choosing a job:
1. Choose 3 most marketable skills you can use. What are 3 things you do well and enjoy doing? What makes you happy?
2. Choose the best in-demand jobs that require these skills. Use a vertical search engine like JobALot.com to search for these skills and find what jobs require your above mentioned skills. Using search engine operators and variations of your marketable skills will help you determine what types of jobs are best suited for you and your experience.
